.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1255 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025
Upper level northerly flow will weaken as the upper low across the Mid-Atlantic states weaken and lifts northward through the end of the week. Shortwave ridging will build across the area in the wake of the upper low lifting away. This will maintain dry conditions with temps well above normal. By early next week, a broad trough is expected to develop west of the area. This will allow moisture levels to increase enough for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temps will remain above normal, in the low 90s. A few spots could potentially reach into the mid 90s. Overnight lows will gradually increase into the mid and upper 60s inland to low to mid 70s along the coast as moisture levels increase. A low risk of rip currents continues through the end of the week. /13
