KEY MESSAGES:
1) Above average temperatures, dry conditions, and areas of smoke before a cold front moves in tonight to bring rain chances.
2) A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for gusty winds late tonight into Monday.
3) An upper ridge will move in on Tuesday to allow temperatures to rise and winds to come down. Little to no precipitation is expected through the end of the week.
WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: An upper level ridge will be in place today briefly, and northwest winds aloft will bring brief wildfire smoke in from Canada through late this evening. A cold front will move in on Sunday night into Monday to bring temperatures closer to average. Areas west of HWY 24 are the most likely areas to see rain, with high confidence of rainfall remaining below a tenth of an inch through Monday night. Then upper ridging is forecast for the foreseeable future.

DISCUSSION: Clear skies and light winds continue through tonight. Dry conditions will continue and areas of smoke will move through today. On Sunday night, a cold front will bring gusty winds and chances for rain. The rain chances are mainly for KGGW and KOLF.
WIND: For KGGW, southeast at 6 to 12 kts, becoming west northwest at 10 to 15 knots after 18Z. For all other sites, light and variable becoming west southwest at 10 to 15 knots after 18Z.
EQUIPMENT: KSDY AMD NOT SKED will remain in place until METARs comms issue is repaired.
