Tonight and Tomorrow... Weather conditions will remain quiet tonight as near term guidance continues to show sfc high pressure just to our northeast. HREF guidance is still showing low probabilities (around 10-20%) of patchy fog development across portions of southeast MS heading into early Sunday morning. Confidence is too low to introduce any fog graphics at this time, however shallow fog will be possible around dawn. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 60s areawide. Hot and dry conditions will persist across our entire forecast area heading into Sunday afternoon. RHs will drop to around 35-40% across much of our forecast area tomorrow on Sunday. Meanwhile, areas across the NW Delta, including portions of southeast AR, could see RHs drop below 30%. This combined with light winds, could cause some low-end fire weather concerns. Afternoon highs will peak into the low to mid 90s across our area. /CR/
Sunday Night through Friday...Despite ridging quickly building east through the Lower Mississippi River Valley late in the period, the overall troughing pattern will pretty much persist across the region through the mid and extended portions of the forecast. This, with high pressure at the surface wedged into the region from the northeast, will continue to promote quiet and continued hot conditions across the forecast area through the week. A boundary will try to approach from the west, but it`ll essentially stall and washout before making it into the CWA. Still, this could bring an isolated shower or storm to mainly far northwest portions of the forecast area Thursday and Friday afternoon. /19/
