Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Morristown TN 1240 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION...

.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1230 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Key Messages:

1. High pressure brings dry weather and clear sky conditions.

2. General warming trend expected throughout the week.

3. Morning fog, especially near rivers and lakes, and afternoon sunshine expected each day.

Discussion:

The cold front has moved east of the region with drier air and high pressure arriving. This will result in a week of dry weather and mostly clear conditions. With winds becoming calm overnight, fog will be expected each morning, especially near river valleys and lakes.

A general warming trend is expected through late week as upper level heights begin to increase and high pressure shifts eastward. Still, seasonable temperatures and mostly clear conditions are forecast to continue. No precipitation is expected throughout the week or next weekend at this time.

.AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1230 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

VFR conditions prevail with northerly winds expected to subside overnight. Patchy fog is expected near rivers and lakes which may result in some IFR/LIFR vis at TRI early Monday morning. With light winds, probability for fog is too low to include in the TAF at this time, but will mention VCFG for TRI. Any fog will dissipate by 14z/15z Monday with VFR conditions and a clear sky.
