.SHORT TERM... (Today through Tuesday night) Issued at 1224 AM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025
Surface high will continue to ridge down into the forecast area during the period. This will provide northerly flow in the low levels with a dry continental air mass. Meanwhile, ridging aloft will also persist over the forecast area. Keeping the mid levels dry and the atmosphere capped. Therefore, do not see any significant precipitation in the forecast and will keep it dry.
With the dry air mass, air temperatures during the daytime will remain warm and slightly above climo norms, however low dew points will keep humidity in check. Nights will be a little cool with temperatures near or slightly below climo norms.

.LONG TERM... (Wednesday through Sunday) Issued at 1226 AM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025
High pressure looks to move to near or off the Mid-Atlantic region that will allow a more easterly flow in the low levels that will help modify the continental air mass with some increase in moisture from the west Atlantic and northeast Gulf. At this time a broad shear axis looks to form across the southeast US into the Gulf south. Therefore, some chance of rain, although slight, will be introduced by Thursday for mainly daytime scattered showers.
Temperatures will be fairly close to climo norms during this period.
