.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1248 PM CDT Thu Sep 18 2025

Daily low to medium (20-40%) rain and thunderstorm chances will remain in the forecast through next week. Most of the activity can be expected during the late morning hours into the afternoon along the sea breeze. However, chances increase to around 40-60% inland around mid next week with a potential shortwave trough and boundary passing through the state. Models are still in disagreement in terms of timing and exact location of this feature, therefore, have again capped PoPs inland at 60%, but will need to keep an eye on this over the coming days. Temperatures will be above normal through next week, increasing by a few degrees over the weekend into early next week.

Tides reached again 1.72 ft overnight, and are running around 0.7-0.8 ft above predicted at Port Aransas today. Although not anticipating any major concerns from this, high tide may approach 1.6-1.7 ft again tonight. Water may reach some of the walkways and approach the dunes at high tide, but as in the past few days, should recede quickly. Will continue to monitor beach conditions in case an Advisory is needed.
