Ridge of surface high pressure will slowly move into East Texas today, with light winds in the morning becoming southeast to south less than 8 mph in the afternoon and overnight. Dry conditions expected as upper ridging builds aloft. Temperatures will warm 3 to 4 degrees today with highs in the 85 to 90 degree range. The warmest readings near 90 will be in the Big Country and Concho Valley. Good radiational cooling conditions will prevail tonight, with light winds and clear skies allowing temperatures to fall into the upper 50s to around 60.

Weak ridging aloft will prevail over the area this weekend, in advance of an upper level low that will reside over the Desert Southwest. This will result in dry conditions, with near normal temperatures through Sunday. The upper low is expected to weaken as it lifts northeast across the southern Rockies early next week, with upper level ridging reestablishing itself across the southern Plains again by the middle of next week. Dry conditions will prevail, with near to slightly above normal temperatures through the period.
