.SHORT TERM /THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/... Issued at 344 AM EDT Sun Sep 28 2025
Skies are clear, and winds are calm early this morning. At the surface, a broad area of high pressure is noted over the region. Fog development has been limited thus far, but should gradually become more common in the river valleys through sunrise. Temperatures are settling into the mid and upper 50s.
In the upper levels, a ridge of high pressure currently over the central CONUS will amplify as it nudges eastward through tomorrow. At the surface, strengthening high pressure centered to our north over the Great Lakes will slide to the Northeast. A dry profile will yield sunny skies today and mostly sunny skies tomorrow. Sfc winds will be out of the northeast, increasing to 5-10 mph this afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s will be common both today and Monday.
Tonight will be another mainly clear night, with a light northeast wind. Lows are expected to be in the mid 50s to near 60.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Issued at 344 AM EDT Sun Sep 28 2025
===== Tuesday - Tuesday Night =====
Dual hurricanes in the western Atlantic are not likely to have a significant impact on our sensible weather in central KY and southern IN. Some modest moisture advection via easterly flow looks likely by Tuesday, but appreciable rain showers will struggle to push west of the Appalachians. An increase in cloud cover does look likely, however. There is a small chance for light rain, mainly near and east of the I-75 corridor. Highs in the low to mid 80s are expected, with lows in the mid 50s to around 60.
===== Wednesday - Saturday =====
From Wednesday onward, both tropical cyclones are forecast to be steered away from the CONUS by the westerlies. High pressure remains in control of our weather, which will bring us several days of dry, pleasant weather. Highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s will be common, with lows in the low/mid 50s. Cannot rule out some morning lows in the 40s toward the end of the forecast period.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z MONDAY/... Issued at 143 AM EDT Sun Sep 28 2025
High pressure will bring fair weather and VFR conditions to the region during this forecast period. Some brief fog does look possible early this morning, but mainly at HNB. Otherwise, clear skies with light northeast winds. Winds will briefly increase to 6- 10 kts this afternoon and early evening.
