.DISCUSSION... Issued at 218 PM EDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Upper trough swinging through in cyclonic flow will generate a few showers this afternoon into early this evening given lingering boundary layer moisture and weak diurnal instability. This trough axis exits off to the east tonight into Friday with heights on the rise with a drier/subsident air mass filtering in. Otherwise, clearing skies and light winds may allow for some patchy fog/stratus to develop overnight into early Friday as the near sfc layer will be slower to dry out.
A stretch of pleasant (dry/warmer) weather then settles in Friday through at least the middle of next week. Upper ridging building east from the Canadian Prairies/Northern Plains to the Great Lakes and Ontario in a pseudo omega block pattern will provide this quiet wx pattern locally.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 711 PM EDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Residual near-surface moisture could support another night of patchy fog/stratus development given mostly clear skies and light winds. Conditions are a bit drier than previous nights though and the signal in the model guidance is more mixed. Best chances appear at KFWA where drier air has been slower to advect in. MVFR is likely with periodic IFR possible roughly 09-13Z. Otherwise expect VFR conditions with light northwest winds backing west Friday.
