.DISCUSSION... Issued at 208 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

As of 2 PM Sunday afternoon, midlevel ridging continues to amplify across the upper midwest. The increasing midlevel heights have aided in temperatures reaching the mid and upper 80s this afternoon. Otherwise, the surface pattern remains largely influenced by surface ridging with southerly winds generally 10-15 mph. The surface/midlevel ridge slide east of the area by Monday, allowing temperatures to return closer to normal with highs in the lower 80s. As the remnants Tropical Depression 9 approach the Carolinas, the surface/midlevel ridge is likely to regress westward across the upper midwest. This will keep dry and seasonable temperatures across the region throughout the upcoming work-week. The next potential for rain may arrive next weekend as a frontal zone advances towards central KS.
