.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1122 AM MDT Mon Sep 15 2025

Mid-level high persists over northern Mexico this morning with west flow over the CWA around the top of the high. Very modest amounts of moisture remain under the high so isolated storms possible this afternoon and evening. CAMS members seem to show the best chances (still low) over the southern zones, so shaped the grids to that pattern.

Some more moisture is added into the mix for Tuesday and Wednesday, with thunderstorm coverage increasing a bit. PWs rise to a bit above one inch in the south, and combined with slow storm motion, local flooding are possible. By Thursday and Friday, what remains of Mario will help build the Mexican ridge up across Arizona and Utah. However persisent re-cycled moisture will continue across the CWA, so will have to keep chances of rain into the weekend. 12Z GFS now bringing Pacific low into the area next Sunday night and Monday. This is a big departure from both its previous run and the ECMWF. Interesting to watch next couple of days.
