...New LONG TERM...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Dry and warm weather will prevail this weekend into the middle of next week.

&&

.SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 114 AM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025

Upper ridging will strengthen slightly today, with temperatures warming a couple degrees. High will be in the lower 90s in the Concho Valley and Big Country with upper 80s elsewhere. Light southeast to south winds will continue with weak surface high pressure to the east. Clear skies and light winds will allow lows tonight in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Sunday through Friday) Issued at 141 AM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025

A weak high pressure ridge will remain in place for the remainder of this weekend, which will act to keep temperatures warm and the area dry. Then, the GFS and ECMWF both depict a low pressure developing across the southern end of California and Arizona. This system will weaken the higher pressure, but most of the rain will remain off to the west of our area through the weekend. In fact, an embedded disturbance in the flow aloft appears to develop across our area bringing an increase in cloud cover, but no rainfall. By early next week, this low appears to weaken and move east towards the Plains. Rain chances will still remain minimal through next week.
