Upper level trough continues to swing through the area through tonight and ejects to the east over the course of Tuesday. Upper level ridge strengthens and moves in from northern Mexico. While temperatures today are on track to stay moderated by clouds and light rain, highs move up about 3-6 degrees areawide into the 80s for most tomorrow afternoon. The low desert along the Rio Grande sees temperatures jump into the low to mid 90s. Rain chances fall towards zero as the aforementioned ridge moves overhead. Overnight lows settle into the upper 50s to 60s for many. This ends up being near or just above normal for the end of September and into early October.

For the long term forecast, the upper level ridge hangs on through the rest of the week. From Wednesday through to this weekend, temperatures reach into the upper 80s to low 90s for much of the region. This translates to most daytime highs being about 5-10 degrees above average. While these temperatures are not too close to record high territory, precautions should still be taken to prevent heat related illnesses. Lows reach into the low to mid 60s for most as overnight temperatures gradually increase through the week. Drier air in combination with the overhead ridge keeps rain chances low(
